We were
there for both lunch and dinner because yes! You just cannot get enough of the
good food. For lunch we ordered the “Wat Tan Hor” (Kuey Teow Noodles in egg gravy)
and the fried bee hoon with white bait. Both dishes were excellent. The “Wat
Tan Hor” was very aromatic with wok hei and juicy prawns. But for me, the fried
bee hoon with white bait at Restaurant Yoong Kee took the crown. Spot on in
taste with just the right amount of saltiness and crunch with every bite of the tiny white bait. The total bill came up to RM 27 for a meal for 3 people which was worth every dollar as we walked out with satisfied smiles and full bellies.
Come dinner
time we returned to Restaurant Yoong Kee to try their rice dishes. We ordered
the fried pork belly and taufu with minced meat and vegetable topping, which were their signature dishes. The fried pork belly for
me was the most unique in flavor, a dish not commonly found in KL city restaurants.
Imagine thinly sliced pork belly, fried to perfection then served with just enough
sticky gravy to make it moist to the mouth. Crunchy on every bite, and here is
a little tip - the smaller pieces are the best in terms of taste and crunchiness….ssshhhh……
The taufu was good with very flavorful toppings but I have probably had similar in
KL city. The total bill came up to about RM 40 plus, with the pork belly taking
up most of the cost. So is this one of the best food in Gohtong Jaya? Have a try !
Food: 4/5
Bang for buck: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5 (dishes served quite fast, but
sometimes hard to grab the waitress’s attention)
Bonus for nice cool weather while slurping down
your “Wat Tan Hor”

From KL you need to go around the bend heading near to Hotel Seri Malaysia, it will be on your left hand side and you can easily spot the signage
